TRANSPORTATION FACEBOOK GROUP

At OCSA, creating a community is a priority and easing transportation barriers for our current and future families is a part of that process. We have created a platform for families to connect and discuss all things transportation. Using this free platform, families can discover and connect with other families that live nearby for carpooling, van pools, finding a buddy to ride on the train with, and more.

Getting started on this page is easy, click on the link below to be directed to the home page. Next, you will need to answer the three screening questions in order to join the group. Once approved by OCSA admin, you will be able to create your own posts or comment on others! Posts will need to be approved by OCSA admin before they appear on the page. Please make sure to not post your exact address, phone number or email. If you would like to give out your information to someone, please do so in a private message.

VANPOOL

Beginning in the 2024-2025 school year, OCSA will no longer directly provide transportation services to families who are commuting from across Orange County.  Now that we are serving families from over 120 different cities in Orange County, San Diego County, and Los Angeles County (list goes on, I’m sure),  it is no longer sustainable for us to directly provide these services.  However, we are excited to announce a partnership with a new vendor, Have Fun Tours, which is a School Pupil Activities Bus (SPAB) certified vanpool.  Because this vendor operates vehicles that are smaller than traditional school busses, they will be able to work directly with families to arrange for individualized transportation services.  Our families who have been utilizing transportation services this year have already transitioned to Have Fun Tours, and have been very pleased with the service.  Each van fits approximately 14 students, and there will be separate trips to different pick up locations so that students can have a more direct trip to and from school with less time on the road.  Additionally, families will have access to the contact information for their specific vanpool driver, so that he/she can reach out directly when and if there is an interruption in service, and the family can notify their driver when their child will not need transportation for any reason.

Beginning in the 2024-2025, families will need to arrange for their own transportation to and from school.  Should families choose to utilize this recommended vendor, they can connect directly with them to procure their services.  Have Fun Tours has purchased additional vehicles and trained new drivers to meet the needs of OCSA families in the years to come.  Their contact information can be found below:

Metrolink and OCTA Free Ride Programs

OCSA students can sign up for passes that would allow them to ride the Metrolink and OCTA buses for free. The Student Adventure Pass is a Metrolink pilot program that enables current students in Southern California to ride for free! The Youth Ride Free Pass provides young people ages 6 to 18 with free travel on safe, clean and reliable OCTA buses. For additional questions regarding the Youth Ride Free program, please contact Wendi Capparelli at 714.560.0900 ext. 6606 or wendi.capparelli@ocsarts.net
